Response Management At It's Finest
Whew, where to begin! We've been hard at work on Affirmify for many moons now, building out a complete Respone Management software-as-a-service application with e-commerce functionality (you know, the stuff that let's you take monthly payments) with near-impossible turnaround time! But what exactly is Response Management? Simple: you are a human resources worker, lawyer, or freelance web designer. You need to send documents to people and get blazingly fast, real-time statistics on if they've been read and if they've been responded to. Let the bloodhounds loose! At 50,0000 feet, that's the goal of Affirmify, but come a bit closer and you'll realize why it's so much more than that: the level of detail and customizibility it provides around these "Response Campaigns" makes it an indispensible tool in any day-to-day business routine.

An "In-Depth Overview" From Affirmify
Right from the app's Dashboard page users are presented with panels of real-time statistics on their most recent "Response Campaigns". Not to mention the ability to review detailed reports on who's viewing documents and how they are responding to them. A handy sidebar provides quick access to context-sensitive functions as well as lists of recently used contacts.

Request Wizard-ry!
Affirmify's Request Wizard guides users through the process of setting up a request, allowing them to set a time for it to be sent out, schedule reminders, associate documents, and add recipients. The progress bar overhead keeps a user up-to-speed with where they are at in the process. Friendly animated "minions" provide meaningful insight and tips where appropriate (kind of like Microsoft Office's old paper clip man, although hopefully more relevant and less of an annoyance)!

Custom Form Building
The Affirmify Request Wizard also allows users to build their own custom forms for recipients of their requests when a basic yes/no response just isn't enough. Does Michael want the chicken, fish or steak at the wedding? Find out anything you want from your recipients with Affirmify's Form Builder!

Keep Tabs On Your Code
We are building a software-as-a-service product that we believe will tremendously help clients, project managers, lead developers, and freelancers alike to keep tabs on the status and health of their project throughout the development process. What does this mean exactly? Well, we could tell you, but then we'd have to... just kidding! Check out the splash page, sign up for updates, and tell your friends!

Rescue Mission!
We were called in to help the AfterSteps team with their design. The result is clean, standards-based HTML and CSS that is pixel-perfect when matched against the original Photoshop designs. While we were at it, we helped them clean up their Rails back-end and troubleshot memory leaks. Additionally, we moved them over to Heroku's cloud hosting platform, helping them reduce hosting headaches and costs.

Quoteboard

Coders Just Wanna Have Fun
Quoteboard is a pet project of ours we created for sharing funny things said by close friends and family. In addition, it was a valuable time for us to experiment with different ways of doing things before we employed them in any client projects. See how we were able to implement many common features on today's most popular social networking sites by flipping the page!

All The Bells And Whistles
The app features "quoteboards" or private groups that friends can invite each other to. Quoteboards function as a sort of "wall" (see Facebook) that users can post their funny quotes on. Quotes can be favorited and commented on. All the social goodness you could ever need!

An Optimal Experience
Like most popular networks, we wanted to give users the opportunity to configure site preferences like email notifications to better tailor the app to their tastes. Security is also of utmost importance to us: we research and implement only the most secure coding practices using frameworks and tools that have withstood the rigorous testing of the open source community.

Find Car Love

Your Ideal Car
Find Car Love is a very cool startup that aims to match someone up with their ideal car (think of it as a sort of match.com for cars; only a whole lot more). Using their vast knowledge of cars and psychology experts, the FCL team dreamed up a survey system with a customizable car-matching algorithm that they could constantly update and tweak.

Tweaking The System
The backend features integration with the car-matching algorithm such that consequence modules can be added to answers on-the-fly. Consequences, coded in an easy to understand if-then format, dictate what happens to the match-point rating of a particular vehicle when a user chooses an answer.

The Survey
The customized survey is delivered to the user with a variety of question types to identify the specific features of a car that he or she would find most appealing. Once completed, a user will see a list of matching vehicles obtaining the highest match-point values. Users are then offered the chance to view images, specifications, and details about these vehicles.

Shape-Up Or Ship-Out
Former New York Jets physical trainer Josh Zitomer needed a hand with getting his new software-as-a-service fitness product PhysicalFix ready for prime-time. How could we say no? PhysicalFix is an awesome way to finally get in shape and put a break in your excessively sedentary lifestyle. Literally a click away, there's no excuses when having access to a physical trainer is this convenient. You best take your workout seriously when Josh is going to spend his valuable time (virtually) training you!

Keeping It In-House
Our own personal website received the same level of attention and dedication as our client work. We strove to create a friendly and aesthetically-pleasing website to introduce visitors to our company, our philosophy, and our work.

One World Buttons

Presentation Is Key
For the One World Button Supply Company's site, we partnered up with Alfalfa Studio: an awesome design agency in SoHo, Manhattan. The moment we set our eyes to the mockups, we knew what an opportunity it was to be a part of implementing such an elegant app for one of New York's premiere fashion boutiques.

Product Spotlight
One of the central components of the site's functionality is for a site administrator to be able to login and create content for the site. In One World Button's case: uploading images of hand-crafted materials and buttons in order to showcase them to potential customers. It was our opinion that no existing pre-packaged solution would suffice for exactly the type of things that OWB's CEO wanted to accomplish, so we built a custom content management system (CMS) from scratch.

Content Management
Through the use of the CMS we built, One World Button product managers have the ability of showing off the latest and greatest from their gallery of fine materials and accessories. The tool also allows downloading of an order form which can be sent out to customers seeking to purchase.

Collecting Customer Data
Potential OWB clients are offered the chance to register for OWB news and other announcements through the registration database we've built. This database integrates seamlessly with the administrator section component of the application, making it easy for customer relations personnel to get in contact with customers and offer product updates and other services.

Ready For Takeoff!
Web site hosting and deployment has never been easier thanks to our fine-tuned process and revolutionary cloud host of choice, Heroku. Heroku has completely changed the way we and our clients think about hosting, and the One World Button project was no exception. From Day 1 of development (ok, maybe Day 2), we were ready to go live by just typing four words and then pressing enter.

Noble Insights
Technologies
Ruby on Rails 3, HTML5, CSS3, Apache Solr, PostgreSQL
The Right Person For The Job
Noble Insights is a research firm that collects, stores, and maintains a wealth of information on experts in various industries for its clients. While we helped in the creation of a lean homepage presentational layer for this project, the majority of our role comes into play behind the scenes. Bringing the Noble Insight's data store for management on the web from countless Excel spreadsheets containing millions of rows was no small task! Whew, that was a mouthful. Read on for more...

Importing The Data
To import Noble's data, we needed to have a way of automating the insertion of records into our PostgreSQL database from .xls files. For this, we created a Ruby "thor" task that parsed and cleaned the data, removing duplicates and rectifying human data entry errors. Given the amount of data to be handled, the script turned out quite performant, and we use it as a template to this day for our data-importing needs.

Data Crazy
The tightly secured administrative portion of the Noble Insights application houses a treasure trove of contact information, biographies, and other notes pertinent to connecting clients with the right experts. The interface allows Noble's managers to store and search tens of thousands of contacts quickly and efficiently. Through full-text keyword searching, Noble Insights can identify relevant experts in a chosen field and export reports with those experts and their contact information.
